Steven is a Registered Respiratory Therapist with more than 50 years of experience in acute care, subacute care, and skilled nursing. He spent 35 years in acute care with the Lynn Hospital, AtlantiCare, and Union Hospital system in Lynn, Massachusetts, working as a staff respiratory therapist and clinical supervisor across the ICU, CCU, emergency department, PACU, and med-surg units. For six of those years he served as Respiratory Department Administrator. His clinical work covered invasive and non-invasive ventilator management, intubation, arterial blood gas analysis, and advanced patient monitoring. He also served on the hospital's Quality Assurance Committee and Code Blue Team, and managed home care respiratory services for a physician-owned provider.

Since 2010, Steven has worked in subacute and skilled nursing care with Kindred Healthcare, Marquis Health Consulting Services, and CareOne. He has implemented and managed respiratory care programs across 12 Kindred skilled nursing facilities and three Marquis-operated facilities. He developed standardized protocols for ventilator management, oxygen therapy, and BiPAP/CPAP, and conducted facility audits of respiratory programs. He has also supported facilities through state and federal surveys and trained nursing staff in ventilator care, tracheostomy management, suctioning, and recognizing early respiratory distress. A longtime educator, he has developed and supervised clinical programs for respiratory therapy students at North Shore Community College, Lynn/Union Hospital, and Lawrence Memorial Hospital.
